Haiyan Qian was a terrific colleague, a good friend and a courageous human being. It was my privelege to get to know her, her sharp mind, her terrific sense of humor and her warmth. She was one of those Directors who listened before she spoke. I enjoyed the times we had coffee or lunch and I will miss her vibrant presence. But I will always remember her with warmth.
